About Us
Paula studied Bachelor of Health Science (Occupational Therapy) at the University of Newcastle, graduating in 1995.
She has worked in various fields within the public and private health sector including aged care, physical disability, neurological and cognitive disability. Paula has worked primarily as a Paediatric Occupational Therapist with children and adolescents in schools, daycare and preschools, home and health care settings and community settings for the last 20+ years.
As a qualified and professional driving instructor, Paula is passionate about teaching drivers of all ages and skill levels one of the most functional skills…..driving.
With her extensive experience and knowledge within the medical, health and wellbeing sectors, Paula is able to meet clients at their individual level and work to achieve their goal of becoming a competent, safe and independent driver.
Driving a vehicle comes with many benefits but also comes with serious responsibilities. At CANdrive the focus is not to “pass your driving test first time” but to become a competent, safe and responsible driver every time you are behind the wheel.
In addition to holding a Bachelors Degree, Paula is also a Rehabilitation trained driving instructor having completed a specialist driver assessment and rehabilitation course through the NSW Institute of driver health. Rehabilitation driving instructors have completed specialist training to instruct and teach drivers with extra needs.
Paula holds a Certificate IV in Transport & Logistics (Road Transport - Car Driving Instruction), a current Working With Children Check and is a registered driving instructor with Service NSW. She remains an Occupational Therapist registered with AHPRA (Australian Health Professionals Regulatory Association)
